A personalised wedding song

Write our wedding song - from £20.99

Every wedding has music. Almost none of it is about the two people getting married. A personalised wedding song is: written from your story, with both your names in it, sung in the style you would have chosen for your first dance anyway. Couples use it for the first dance, the walk down the aisle, the exit, the speeches, or as a gift to the couple from the people who know them best.

Tell us the story. We write and record it within 48 hours, and you get the track plus a printable lyric sheet.

Four ways a wedding song gets used

  1. The first dance. The most common. A song about you two, at the tempo you can actually dance to. "Saying I Do" (country), "Bright" (acoustic ballad) and "Forever Starts Tonight" (dance) on our example songs page were all first dances. Our first dance song page goes into that moment in detail.
  2. The aisle or the exit. A shorter, lighter arrangement works well here. Tell us where it will play.
  3. A gift to the couple. From the parents, the best man, the bridesmaids or the whole friendship group. Everyone's memories go in the brief, and it gets played at the reception.
  4. The anniversary after. A new verse for the first anniversary is available as a paid amendment. Our anniversary song page covers that.

Why it works on the day

"We played it at our wedding reception and the whole room went silent. Our guests still talk about it a year later." (Sarah and James, wedding first dance) A room that has heard a hundred first dances has never heard one about the couple in front of them.

  • Your story, not a cover. How you met, the proposal, the disasters along the way.
  • Your style. Acoustic, country, romantic ballad, R&B, indie, dance. Male or female vocalist.
  • Ready for the DJ. MP3 and WAV, so the band or DJ has a clean file. Deluxe adds a Spotify and Apple Music release so guests can find it afterwards.
  • A keepsake. The lyric sheet is signed at the reception and framed.

How it works

  1. Tell us your story. About ten minutes. If the song is a gift, one person collects the memories and writes the brief.
  2. Choose the sound. Genre and vocalist. Your reference artist helps.
  3. We write and record it. A finished, fully sung track, usually within 48 hours. Order at least two weeks ahead of the wedding so you can listen, practise and share the file with whoever is playing it.
  4. Play it on the day. Files by email. Ultimate adds a CD for the keepsake box.

What to put in the brief

  • How you met, and who made the first move.
  • The proposal, with the bit that did not go to plan.
  • What you each love about the other, in plain words.
  • The people who will be in the room.
  • Where the song will play, and roughly how long it needs to be.

What it costs

  • Standard, £20.99. MP3 and WAV, printable lyric sheet, within 48 hours.
  • Deluxe, £64.99. Adds record-single cover art, a Spotify and Apple Music release, a QR lyric sheet and 24-hour delivery.
  • Ultimate, £99.99. Adds a physical CD posted to your door.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a wedding song?

Most run three to four minutes, which suits a first dance. Tell us where it will play and we keep the length sensible for that moment.

Can the song be a surprise for my partner on the day?

Yes. Many couples brief it alone. Say so in the brief and we keep it to a length and tone that works as a surprise first dance.

Can we hear it before the wedding?

Yes. The song comes to your email first, usually within 48 hours. Order at least two weeks ahead so you have time to listen and share the file with your DJ or band.

Can our parents or friends give it as a gift?

Yes. One person places the order and collects everyone's memories into the brief. We write it from all of them.

Do we get the rights to play it in public?

The song is yours for personal use, which covers playing it at your wedding and sharing it with family and friends. It cannot be resold or used commercially.

Can we get a version without vocals?

Tell us in the brief. We can produce a shorter or instrumental section for the aisle as part of the arrangement discussion.
